It is recommended, but not required, for students and staff to test within 48 hours prior to entering campus after Spring Break.
STRIKE DAYS (potentially 3/21-3/23) CARE OPTIONS
Are you and your family looking for care-giving options if school is closed Tuesday through Thursday this week? A number of organizations, including Got Game, JMG Sportswise, and LA Parks & Recreation, are coordinating ways to keep students safe, engaged, and active during the possible strike.
Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation is offering free drop-in care options 8am-5:30pm at 16 locations for children ages 7-17. See the department's flyer here.
From JMG Sportswise:
Interested in Day Camps(8:30am-4:30pm)if LAUSD goes on strike next week? info@jmgsportswise.com
Hoo We Are! JMG is a small, minority owned, local, family-run business with a background in corporate team-building, youth programs and group dynamics. We believe that sports is an amazing vehicle to teach children life lessons that reach beyond the classroom, beyond the playing field. (i.e. Respect, Discipline, Teamwork, Sportsmanship, School and Community Spirit...) What We Do! JMG espouses the GROWTH MINDSET philosophy. We give personal attention to both child and parent on how to transition through those times where it seems that your child is not engaged or emotions are running high. Our Lead Coaches have played at the Pro, Semi Pro, Collegiate or Club Team Levels and many have a background in Childhood Development and Education. Through role modeling, communication and a FUN, age appropriate curriculum, they reinforce character building skills already being taught at your home & school https://jmgsportswise.com (323) 801-6391
From Got Game:
We recognize that with the unexpected closure of LAUSD schools next week due to the strike may present a problem for many families and students. We want to help and offer solutions. So far, we HAVE secured a location at Cornerstone Church in Westchester, close to Kentwood and Short Avenue Elementary schools. Registration is NOW LIVE on our website. Cornerstone is an enclosed facility with a gymnasium, large outdoor space and playground, and indoor multi-purpose room. This program is available Tuesday thru Thursday from 8:30am-3:00pm. We're also working to confirm facilities in the Mid-City and Valley areas to offer "Camp Days" during the school closure as well. As soon as (if) we can finalize a location in the Mid-City area, we'll let you know ASAP.
In addition, we are also offering PODS where our coaches can come to your residence to work with groups of 4-8 students. While we are unable to place students and create pod groups and locations, we are happy to send our staff out to service organized groups in set locations with fun games, sports, and projects each day! If you have a group of students and a location to host, we can offer you this coverage. If interested in this option, please call or email ASAP and we'd be happy to schedule that with you, pending availability!
Since we're unsure if/when school will resume before or after the 3 days next week, we're unable to offer refunds if the "no school" days change. However, any balance paid can be used toward ANY of our upcoming spring, summer camp or after school programs. Given this quickly approaching and unique situation, the Cornerstone camp program and pod offering availability may reach capacity quickly. However, we want to offer creative solutions for families who need or want coverage for their child(ren). Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!

Additionally, consider coordinating pod-like care within your class families for the rainy days if that option is accessible to your families. Please reach out to your class group chats and/or your Room Reps.
