by admin2 on March 23, 2010

There will be a series of special events in the Technology Center during April. Information will be posted on the Technology Center Blog and also on the notice boards in the “Information Alley” outside the Technology Center.

Here are some events we have currently scheduled:

April 6th - Teacher In-Service Training in Tech Lab. Teachers will review tech standards and curriculum and import individual data in Excel on the Technology Grid. Teachers will also hear from the Tech Committee faculty about the new computer policy that we will put in place to build teacher skills after teachers complete their proposal for additional computers.

April 7th- 5th Grade Special Assembly with Lisa Berman Yuhas (widow of documentary filmmaker Robert Yuhas) and the producers of the documentary “Becoming Barack.” They will conduct a Q & A session discussing the technology book project all the 5th graders produced that we edited and presented to his wife in February. The Yuhas family and producers of the documentary requested that we hold an assembly with all Third Street 5th graders to get reactions from the kids about what they learned when they viewed the film, created their letters, and imported original pictures for the project. Mouse Club will film the event.

April 8th- 9:00am:  Visit the Tech Center and receive our Technology Report. All parents welcome to visit the Tech Center after our school-wide budget meeting to see the lab and receive a Tech Report on accomplishments and goals for our technology program.

April 12th and April 22nd – 2:30-3:30pm:  Teacher and Parent After School Workshops. Do you need to refresh your computer software knowledge? Join us to review Microsoft Office applications, Blogs, and more to gain further tech skills in these free workshops.
