by admin on May 5, 2010

The Snack Shop urgently needs more more volunteers in order to stay open. Without more help, the Snack Shop’s operating days will be reduced.

Do you pick up your kids at 2:30pm? Do you have 45 minutes to spare at least one day a week?  We need you!!!

Please contact Nancy Drymon at mosdry@sbcglobal.net if you can help.

Thank you!!!

Something for our Teachers…

by admin on April 27, 2010

PTA’s Teacher Appreciation Week is coming up next week.  It’s the parents chance to show the teachers just how much we appreciate their hard work and commitment to our kids.  Every morning we are going to serve a light breakfast for the teachers and staff in the office.  We are also putting small gifts in their mailboxes and decorating the school with posters.

What we’re asking from you is at some point during the week to organize a nice gesture for your teacher from your classroom families.  Here’s a few ideas: a thank you card signed by all the kids, a parent volunteer supervising the kids at recess so your teacher can take long lunch, ask every child to bring in a single flower and assemble them into a lovely bouquet (PTA is happy to provide the vase), the Larchmont Starbuck’s has mugs that the kids can sign, decorate the classroom door like what was done for the coin drive.  Really, any idea you can think of to express your families’ gratitude for their teacher would be wonderful.

This year more than any other, let’s show the teacher’s how much we appreciate them.

Please contact Alysoun Higgins if you have any questions or need help. Thank you for all the work you’ve done for our school.

Please Come to Our Art Fair!

by admin on April 17, 2010

schoolpicWe know that children thrive on positive feedback. At our school we encourage and recognize academics, athletics, as well as celebrate our young artists.

You are invited to our Art Fair to celebrate your child’s creativity. Your child has been working hard on a special project for this Art Fair.

Tuesday, April 20th:  5.00 pm to 7.30 pm.

Our School is Art Smart!

If you plan to attend, your child’s artwork will be framed and on display. You may purchase a frame package for $29.95 plus tax. Our school will benefit from every purchase.

We are having this event because we believe that when a child’s artwork is framed and on display at home, it makes the child more self-confident in his/her abilities and helps to build self-esteem.

It will be a fun-filled event for the whole family with activities and art supplies from $3 and up. We hope that you can make it!

Suzie Oh – Principal
George Ricker – Art Teacher
John Pratt – Art Teacher
